The November papers are close

In the last few weeks before a paper, more notes rarely help. What helps is sitting a real past paper to time, having it marked properly, and being shown exactly where the marks went.

What a marked paper actually involves

Nothing unusual, and nothing dressed up. Four steps.

  1. A real paper from a past seriesChosen for the subject and level the student is actually sitting.
  2. Sat to time, as it is in the hallNo pausing, no looking things up. That is the part that shows what is really there.
  3. Marked and returned with commentsWhere each mark went, and where it did not — question by question, in writing.
  4. The mistakes taught in the next lessonA marked paper on its own changes nothing. The lesson after it is the point.

The first paper is marked free

One paper, marked and returned with comments and a plan for the mistakes, with nothing to pay and nothing to cancel if you stop there. We will not promise anyone a grade — nobody honest can. We promise the marked paper and the plan.

Subjects

Each one taught by a teacher who teaches that subject, and nothing else.

What a parent sees

Every subject starts with a written teaching plan the family approves before the first lesson, and the date you approved it is kept. After every lesson there is a report: the topic covered, whether your child attended, the classwork mark, the paper mark where there was one, whether the homework came in on time, and a note from the teacher. At any time you can also see how much of the course is covered, the overall mark and the three parts it is made of, the attendance, and the grade last year’s published boundaries would give. Lessons open inside our own portal: voice, video, screen share and a whiteboard, with nothing to install.
